Panel Discussion: Leading world-class customer focus: Don’t lose your digital edge!

12:50 - 13:20

  • Resolving the complexity of clients’ exposure, products, and coverage with such a wide variety of potential terms and triggers in the commercial market provides a considerable challenge
  • Brokers need to frame the client’s exposure and package it in a way the insurers can digitally ‘catch’ the package and underwrite it.
  • Building bespoke coverages, and the ability to trade complex risks digitally requires several components
  • Dynamic, tradeable commercial products will need to break those links, since an efficient, flexible and interconnected data reservoir is the basis from which everything digital flows.

Fireside Chat: Running successful business in the modern age and new normal

12:20 - 12:40

  • Developing a winning company culture
  • Well-being at work
  • The impact of stress on the mental capital on an organisation
Lisa Whittleton

Director

Illuminate VR Services Ltd

Lisa has a Psychology background and set up Illuminate VR as she recognised, through her experience as a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant and Trainer, the stigma surrounding mental health in the workplace and was keen to influence this positively.

We work with SMEs in the Midlands region who value their staff and recognise that happy employees are more productive and engaged. We can help you to create a positive culture surrounding mental health, and build a resilient workforce through a range of training and consultancy support, suited to your needs.

We are passionate about supporting your teams to be proactive so that you can prevent issues from arising and keep your staff thriving and reaching their potential.

We can ensure you meet government guidelines to be transparent about the support you provide in the area of mental health, being both morally and legally compliant.

- Are your employees at a high risk of stress?
- Are staff members sometimes there in body but not in mind?
- Do you have managers who lack confidence talking about sensitive issues?
- Do you have high absence rates / turnover?

Would your company benefit from:
- Building resilience?
- A clearer wellbeing strategy
- Staff support to stay or return to work?
- Manager upskilling on the topic of mental health
- Mental Health First Aid training

Illuminate was set up in 2013 in order to reach and support SMEs in the West Midlands, and we now deliver a range of face to face and online services across the UK. The training has both a practical and theoretical basis as we believe that people will gain the most from training which they can practically apply to the workplace rather than coming from a purely clinical perspective.

We have worked with a range of public and private sector organisations, as well as supporting companies in the not-for-profit sector including Orbit Group, Amnesty International and Raspberry Pi Foundation. We are currently increasing our number of clients in the creative and tech industries who we have seen often work in highly pressured environments.

A bit about me...
I've always been interested in what makes people tick, and social/positive psychology, largely shaped by experiences growing up with close family members struggling with their mental health. Mental health is a subject I am so passionate about, and I feel grateful to be working in a field that makes a positive difference to businesses and individuals every day. I am always looking out for new associates to join the growing team so get in touch if you would like to get involved.

He has maintained a written journalistic career, alongside his broadcasting.  His first novel 'A Random History of Football', sold so well in hardback it went to paperback and he is widely published in the print media.Earlier on in his career he co-published his own cutting-edge music magazine Blank

Colin originally came to prominence on  BBC Radio 1, hosting many shows and forging a successful partnership with Edith Bowman, eventually co-hosting the weekday afternoon slot 'The Colin and Edith Show'. It will be fun categories like “Best Dressed Woman” (always goes to one of the older women in the room), “Best Baldie” etc.

Frank Warren

Boxing manager and promoter

Queensberry Promotions

Frank Warren has spent forty years working with boxing's most colourful and controversial characters. In his long-awaited autobiography, he reflects on the battles he had to win to reach the top and remain there, not least the battle to stay alive after he was shot at point-blank range in an attempted assassination in 1989. In Frank and Fearless, Warren pulls no punches, taking us behind the scenes into a world of blood and sweat, and intense relationships that all too often end in tears. Under Warren's careful stewardship, Frank Bruno, Naseem Hamed, Joe Calzaghe, Ricky Hatton, Amir Khan and Tyson Fury all became world champions. So did Terry Marsh, the man who was later accused, and cleared, of trying to murder him. Along the way, Warren has been assaulted in a hotel room by the formidable Mike Tyson and gone toe to toe in a court room with his erstwhile partner, the flamboyant Don King. However, boxing is only part of the story that begins on a council estate in 1950s North London, where Warren first learnt how to stand up to bullies. That was how he overcame and outwitted the powerful cartel that controlled British boxing and tried to stop his career before it started, and it is why he is still around to reflect on his remarkable life. With cameo appearances from Frank Sinatra, Luciano Pavarotti, Pink Floyd and the Philadelphia mafia, Frank and Fearless is the unflinchingly candid and hard-hitting memoir of Britain's most famous and influential boxing promoter.
